Intersoc 3rd round results

Last Tuesday 6 Oct. our team won 3-1 and 11 points to 5 against ENGIE 2.

Our team was composed of Eric, Kevin, Christof and Robert.
Unfortunately our opponent were only 3 so we had to drop a player (votre serviteur).

Eric, for his 1st match since at least a couple of month and his first with ECSC, won a thrilling 5 “seters”. Christof caught his opponent cold and did not give him any chance to get back into the match winning in straight sets. Finally Robert, playing as #3, probably faced the best player of the night and could do little to prevent his very athletic opponent to win 3-0.

We continued to play for fun for about half an hour. I tried to beat Robert’ opponent but lost 10-12, 9-11, 9-11. We finished the evening with a couple of drinks at the bar.

For your agendas our next match (4th round already) will take place on
Tuesday 20 October 20:00 at Winners against AG Insurance 1.

Intersoc 2nd round results

Last week, ECSC lost 1-3, and 4 to 12 points to Solvay but we were closer than the score line suggest.

Petr won in straight sets. Robert and Manuel, for his 1st match for ECSC, both had very disputed matches but eventually lost in straight sets. I won the 1 set only for my opponent to wake-up and win the next 3 sets. Had Christof been able to play I think we would have had at least a draw.

Most importantly the atmosphere was nice and we did even play some more squash after.

Next Tuesday 6 Oct. we are playing against ENGIE 2 20:00 at Winners.

A new squash season is now upon us!

Some information:

  1. The Club Nights will resume tonight Tuesday 15 September at 18:30.
    Club Night (CN) takes place on every Tuesday evenings from 18.30 to 20.00 at Winners with 4 courts at your disposal. Please sign in at the reception desk and pay the fee of 6 Euro, however as part of the Week of Sport, if you know any potential new players, they are welcome to try a session for free this week.
    For any question please contact the Club Nights responsible, Petr Lapka.
  2. The Box League will resume on Monday 21 September.
    Players who played at least 1 match during the last session will be automatically included.
    If you did not play any match last session or would like to join the box please contact Kevin at the latest before 18/09.
    For any question please contact the temporary Box coordinator Kevin, who will then handover the organization to Stelio.
  1. The Inter-société competition resumed on Tuesday 8 September.
    This new season, we only have 1 ECSC team playing in the 2nd division, plus one team dedicated to Eurocontrol players.

  1. The Inter-clubs competition will resume on Thursday 25 September at 20:00.
    This new season the club continues to field three teams in order to give all players a chance to play more matches.
    ECSC 1, ECSC 2, and ECSC 3 will be playing respectively in the 4th, 6th and 8th divisions organised by the Ligue Francophone de squash (LFS).

  1. Proposal for a friendly competition the 1st or 2nd weekend in October with the aim of introducing newcomers to squash. If you would like to play, and bring along a friend to join in, please contact Bram.
