InterClubs Results – 2 October 2014

Mixed fortunes last week, ECSC 1 had an unexpected 3-1 win against higher ranked opponents thanks to an excellent 3-0 win by John on loan from the 2nd team, a battling 3-1 win by Mitch, and Artur a 3-0 walkover. ECSC 2 had a hard time against a strong opposition from Castle and lost 0-4, as did an under strength ECSC 3 away at Le Parc.

Intersoc – 3rd round results

ECSC 2 had another draw against GDF SUEZ 1 at Castle Club, 7 points to 7.
Pedro and John were strong as always and won in straight sets while Jaime and I lost in straight sets.

ECSC 3 with only 2 players also had a draw against BNP Paribas 1. Maximilien managed to get a set while Paul lost in straight sets. We should normally receive 2 forfeit for the 2 other matches.

InterClubs Results – 25th September 2014

A tricky start to the season with lots of players away due to injuries, illness and missions to save the world.

ECSC 1 had a hard fought 2-2 draw against Lasne 1, with Bram losing 0-3 in a tough comeback game, Enrique winning 3-1, Artur winning 3-1, and Mitch losing 2-3 against a speedy  youngster.

ECSC 2 lost 1-3 to highly ranked oppostion, which will probably be a contender for the No.1 spot, with Pedro narrowly losing 2-3 to a B2, John making a comfortable 3-0 win, Jens losing a hard fought match 1-3, and Simon having a tough come back match to lose 0-3.

ECSC 3, match postponed.

Intersoc – 2nd round results

Last Tuesday ECSC 2 had a draw against NATO, 7 points to 10. Pedro fought brilliantly from 2 sets down to win his match. John played very well against a “military” fit opponent. Jaime’s opponent was just too strong and I was just not fit enough against a 55 something year old player…

On Wednesday ECSC 3 lost to TOTAL, 5 points to 13. Only Edwin, our newcomer, saved our honour, winning his 3-2 in a closely fought encounter while Nick went down 2-3.

Our next matches already take place next week:

  • ECSC 2 will play GDF SUEZ 1 on Wed. 1 Oct. 18:30 at Castle Club.
  • ECSC 3 will play against BNP Paribas 1 on Wed. 1 Oct. 18:30 at Winners.

Please note that both matches will take place on a Wednesday.

Intersoc – 1st round results

Last night saw ECSC 2, the 2013-2014 champion, take on the winner of the 2nd division AXA. It was a tough match. Without Pedro and with Artur slightly injured we managed a good draw. Kevin and Jaime won 3-1 while Artur and John lost 1-3. The hero of the night was Jaime who won against a skilled female opponent, 40 years younger than him.

For their 1st match of the season ECSC 3 got a good training. Their opponent, SWIFT, gave us a bye on the morning if the match. On the positive side the team got 14 easy points against what could have been a tough team to beat.

Next match:

  • ECSC 2 will play against NATO on 23 Sept. 18:30 at the NATO sport facilities.
  • ECSC 3 will play against TOTAL on 24 Sept. 19:00 at Winners. Please note that it’s a Wednesday.

The start of the new squash season is less than a month away!

Some information:

  1. The Inter-société competition will resume on Tuesday 9 September at 20:00 with all 3 teams playing at home.
    This new season, our first 2 teams will continue to play in the first division while ECSC3 has been promoted to the 2nd division.
    For any question please contact Kevin.
  1. The Box League will resume on Monday 15 September.
    Players who played at least 1 match during the last session will be automatically included (see last session results).
    If you did not play any match last session or would like to join the box please contact Pedro and Kevin at the latest before 10 Sept.

  1. The Club Nights will resume on Tuesday 9 September at 18:30.
    For any question please contact the Club Nights responsible, Petr Lapka.
  1. The Interclub competition will resume on Thursday 25 September at 20:00 with all 3 teams playing at home.
    This new season the club is fielding a new 3rd team in order to give all players the chance to play more matches.
    ECSC 1, ECSC 2, and ECSC 3 will be playing respectively in the 4th, 6th and 9th division organised by the Ligue Francophone de squash (LFS).

In view of obtaining a Medical Certificate (pdf), the doctor M. Mayé will be present at the Winners on Saturdays 13 & 20 Sept. from 10:00 to 12:00.
